The Ikarian Centre for Social and Political Research
Located on the Greek island of Ikaria, the Ikarian Centre for Social and Political Research was established in 2009 by Sappho Xenakis and Leonidas K. Cheliotis. Taking inspiration from Ikaria's rich political history as much as its traditions of independence and tenacity, the Ikarian Centre for Social and Political Research aims to provide a hub for high-quality independent academic research. In particular, the Centre seeks to promote dialogue and co-operation between scholars working on aspects of socio-political research related to the Greek experience. In pursuit of these goals, the work programme of the Centre encompasses the organisation of international conferences and workshops, the publication of the Ikarian Journal of Social and Political Research, and the development of an interdisciplinary and multilingual library devoted to social and political research.
